The emergence of the Suhail star in the UAE has resulted in notable meteorological changes. Despite its appearance, the country endured its warmest day of the year on August 26, just a few days after the Suhail star was discovered. The appearance of the star, on the other hand, signals a gradual decline in the high summer heat.
According to Ibrahim Al Jarwan, a member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, when the star rises, the tremendous heat will begin to recede, offering respite from the high temperatures. The humidity in the air will rise, causing a change in the general weather and a more pleasant environment.
Around 60 days after the Suhail star appears, which is in the middle of October, a new phase known as the ‘Al Wasim’ or ‘Al Wasmi’ season begins. The weather progressively stabilises throughout this period, leading to more agreeable temperatures.
This signals the beginning of cooler mornings and lays the way for more weather shifts. The genuine advent of winter occurs around 100 days following the emergence of the Suhail star, which occurs at the beginning of December. This marks the start of the coldest season, with temperatures plummeting dramatically as winter sets in.
