The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is planning to hire more professionals from the Philippines, particularly in the healthcare sector, through a government-to-government agreement. Susan Ople, the Philippine government’s secretary for the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), announced this during a press conference.
The UAE has a demand for healthcare workers, and Filipinos are well-regarded in this field globally. The government aims to facilitate the recruitment process by ensuring that job-seekers do not have to pay any placement fees. This partnership aims to address the labor needs in the UAE while providing employment opportunities for Filipinos.
In addition to the recruitment plan, the UAE is also interested in fostering business partnerships between Filipino entrepreneurs and UAE firms. The government aims to create a business-to-business track that encourages collaboration between Filipino entrepreneurs and companies in Dubai and other regions of the UAE. This initiative could further enhance economic ties between the two countries.
The Philippine government has been actively supporting its overseas workers and empowering them through various initiatives. Recently, the DMW and the Department of Trade and Industry signed an agreement to assist Filipino expats in establishing businesses with their families in the Philippines. This move seeks to promote entrepreneurship and create opportunities for Filipinos to contribute to their country’s economic development while working abroad.
The UAE government’s partnership with the Philippines aims to meet labor demands in the healthcare sector and encourage business collaboration between the two countries. It reflects the commitment of both governments to strengthen their bilateral relations and provide opportunities for Filipino professionals and entrepreneurs in the UAE.
