Sultan Al Neyadi to connect live with Ajman for upcoming ‘A Call From Space’ event

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) and the General Secretariat of the Executive Council in Ajman are joining forces to present the seventh edition of ‘A Call from Space’ featuring Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi. Taking place on June 21 in Ajman, this engaging event will allow residents to connect live with Al Neyadi, who is currently on the International Space Station (ISS) undertaking the longest Arab space mission in history.

The event, to be held at Emirates Hall in Ajman, will commence at 2 PM on Wednesday, June 21. Doors will open at 12:40 PM and close at 1:50 PM, offering attendees the chance to experience Al Neyadi’s life on the ISS and engage in conversations with him. Over 6,500 individuals have participated in the previous six editions of this event.

Al Neyadi has already spent over 100 days in space, making significant contributions to Arab space exploration. His tasks on the ISS encompass a wide range of activities, including conducting scientific experiments, performing maintenance duties, and assisting in the relocation of the Dragon spacecraft. Notably, he accomplished a remarkable 7-hour and 1-minute spacewalk alongside astronaut Stephen Bowen, becoming the first Arab astronaut to do so. His responsibilities during the spacewalk included routing power cables and preparing for the installation of the ISS Roll-Out Solar Array (iROSA).

The UAE Astronaut Programme, managed by MBRSC under the UAE’s National Space Programme and funded by the ICT Fund of the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), aims to advance research and development in the ICT sector in the UAE and enhance the country’s global presence.
