Shreyas Mehta, a Mumbai-born model, actor, and entrepreneur, has taken the Dubai fashion scene by storm with his relentless pursuit of excellence and his dedication to his craft. In an exclusive interview, Shreyas shares his journey, inspirations, and his vision for the future.
Born and raised in Mumbai, Shreyas was captivated by the magic of the city, known as the “City of Dreams.” Inspired by the film industry, he embarked on his journey in the world of acting and modeling. With an undergraduate degree in mass media and a postgraduate degree in fashion design, Shreyas combined his academic knowledge with his passion for the arts.
Shreyas’s career took off when he secured a position as a ‘Fashion Buying’ Assistant at Twenty4 Fashion in Dubai. Over the course of nine years, he climbed the corporate ladder, ultimately becoming the Head of the Men’s Wear department. However, Shreyas never lost sight of his true calling in the world of show business.
“My lifelong dream was to launch my own fashion label,” Shreyas reveals. With the success of Bravo TV’s reality show ‘Love Without Borders’, he turned his dream into a reality and founded FlashMob Nation in Dubai. The brand represents a fusion of Middle Eastern, Indian, and Western design influences, reflecting Shreyas’s diverse cultural experiences.
Throughout his journey, Shreyas has remained grounded and true to his values. He attributes his success to the discipline instilled in him by his parents and the unwavering support of his family. “Dubai’s growth-oriented environment has empowered me to go from being an employee of a fashion house to launching my own label,” he says.
When asked about his philosophy and approach to life, Shreyas emphasizes the importance of stepping out of one’s comfort zone. “Stepping out of my comfort zone has been life-changing thus far,” he affirms. He believes in finding a higher purpose and aspires to positively impact the lives of people around him.
Shreyas’s dedication extends beyond his career. He actively engages in activities that benefit others, including his involvement in animal welfare and fundraising for patients with rare pediatric diseases in Dubai. He finds balance in his personal pursuits, spending time with family, and staying true to his values.
Looking to the future, Shreyas envisions expanding FlashMob Nation’s reach, both online and in-store, and adding another international TV show to his portfolio. He aspires to create a brand that customers enthusiastically identify with and find a sense of belonging in.
As a role model for aspiring individuals, Shreyas offers valuable advice. “Don’t measure success through others’ yardsticks,” he advises. He encourages people to define their own success and remain focused on their goals, despite life’s challenges. Shreyas exemplifies this by continuously honing his skills and embracing new opportunities.
