Dubai’s RTA streamlines sign permit issuance with automation

0

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced automation for the issuance of supplementary information sign permits, accessible through the RTA website.

This move is part of RTA’s digital transformation initiative to offer convenient and accessible services to customers. The online system is integrated with various other systems, including financial, electronic mapping, and company licensing systems.

These permits allow for the installation of additional signs at specific locations, granted to entities like health and emergency facilities, transportation hubs, public areas, and major tourist destinations, subject to specified conditions.

The new system improves operational efficiency, reduces paper usage, and offers a streamlined process for customers. It aligns with RTA’s goal of enhancing competitiveness and customer satisfaction.

The service operates 24/7, allowing for flexibility in accessing it without the need to visit RTA service centers. Once the automated payment is completed, the permit is issued electronically, and customers receive notifications via mobile and email regarding their application status.

Additionally, the design, installation, and maintenance of these signs must be overseen by RTA’s approved contractor.
