UAE-based water-from-air solution provider to distribute 30,000 drinking water bottles during Ramadan

Ma Hawa, an Emirati brand owned by Baynunah Watergeneration Technologies SP LLC, is will distribute over 30,000 eco-friendly water bottles through the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) during Ramadan as a part of its community initiaitives and sustainable hydration awareness efforts.

Ma Hawa water bottlesare filled with pure drinking water harvested directly from the air using Ma Hawa’s innovative Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) technology, while the company is committed to the UAE’s sustainability goals and the efforts under the Mohammed bin Zayed Water initiative.

In addition, the company will also deploy a number of innovative AWG machines at numerous mosques across the country, continuing its mission to provide sustainable and reliable sources of clean drinking water for worshippers beyond ramada.

Miral, the leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences in Abu Dhabi, announced today the development of two beaches at Yas Bay Waterfront, Abu Dhabi’s vibrant day-to-night destination on Yas Island. Study reveals 76% of UAE residents set Ramadan fitness goals, preferring night workouts

As Ramadan prompts a period of spiritual reflection and community bonding, a recent study by New Balance reveals a noteworthy trend among UAE residents. Alongside the traditional aspects of fasting and prayer, an increasing number of individuals are prioritizing physical fitness during the holy month.

The New Balance Ramadan Fitness Survey 2024 delves into the physical health commitments, attitudes, and habits of UAE residents during Ramadan, providing insights into their active lifestyles. In response to these findings, New Balance has launched the ‘You Run the Night’ campaign, aimed at promoting a more inclusive and positive approach to running culture through night runs throughout Ramadan.

The survey underscores a strong connection between spiritual renewal and physical well-being, with 76% of UAE respondents expressing commitment to specific fitness goals or resolutions during Ramadan. Moreover, two-thirds (67%) attribute fasting during Ramadan to aiding in the adherence to their fitness routines.

Interestingly, a significant shift towards nighttime activity is observed, with 55% of respondents reporting heightened energy levels at night and preferring to exercise after Iftar, the breaking of the fast. This emergence of a ‘night audience’ indicates a changing trend in fitness habits during the holy month.

The study also highlights the diverse palette of physical activities embraced by UAE residents during Ramadan, ranging from aerobic dance classes to yoga, running, gym sessions, and cycling.

Stuart Henwood, New Balance’s MENA Regional Manager, emphasized the importance of movement during Ramadan, stating, “While Ramadan is a time of reflection and celebration, it’s crucial not to overlook the significance of staying active. Stay indoors: Severe weather warning prompts UAE authorities to close valley roads

Authorities in the UAE have announced the closure of all roads leading to valleys and mountains as the country braces for severe weather conditions this weekend. The closure will remain in effect until the foul weather subsides.

The impending weather system is expected to bring heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and hail across the country from Friday evening, March 8, until noon on Sunday, March 10. Areas are at risk of flooding, with strong winds potentially causing low visibility on roads, particularly from Friday midnight to Saturday midnight.

The weather is anticipated to begin affecting regions such as Al Dhafra and Al Ain before spreading to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and beyond. Residents have been advised to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary, with motorists urged to park vehicles away from mountains, valleys, and water bodies.

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) has issued warnings regarding hailstorms, urging residents to take precautions to safeguard themselves and their property. Those found disregarding safety directives could face fines and penalties, including vehicle confiscation.

Disaster management teams in each emirate will determine whether to implement remote learning in schools and cancel outdoor events scheduled for the weekend. Emergency services, including police, rescue teams, and civil defense, are on high alert to respond to any emergencies.

Last month’s heavy rains and hail prompted widespread disruptions, with schools and offices transitioning to remote work as residents grappled with the aftermath of flooding and property damage.
