Bab Al Shams Desert Resort kicks off #SpreadHealth Campaign with 25% off vaccinated UAE residents

1

Dubai, UAE: Bab Al Shams Desert Resort, which recently completed a successful Covid-19 vaccination drive for all eligible hotel employees and their families, will now be offering UAE residents, who have taken the Covid-19 vaccine, a flat 25% off on all dining venues and hotel bookings made at the best available rate. The offer will be valid from now till April 30th, 2021.

This move comes just as the nationwide UAE Covid-19 vaccine program is being rolled out across the different emirates, with some restaurants and ride sharing apps offering reductions to those who have had their jabs.

“We would like to show our support to the government of UAE, particularly – Dubai Health Authority (DHA) which is working tirelessly to get all UAE residents vaccinated and safe. We hope this move will incentivize people who are making the decision to get vaccinated and we show our support for those who have taken the jab.” says Ziad Sleiman, Hotel Manager of Bab Al Shams Desert Resort.

The offer will be valid on all of the resort’s dining venues, including Al Forsan, Al Hadheerah, the hotel’s signature desert dining experience, Al Sarab Rooftop Lounge and Ya Hala. It is also valid on the hotel’s best possible rate, which starts at AED 750 for two adults.

Drew Joshua Dennehy’s interesting journey into the world of coffee

1

Born and brought up in New Zealand, Drew Joshua Dennehy initially pursued a career in Economics and Commercial Law from Victoria University of Wellington.  He made his move to the UAE and began working with a law firm in DIFC back in 2013.  Realizing this was not his true calling, he found himself spending his free time regularly at a café close to his office. He became even more fascinated with coffee as his country has a very strong coffee culture. Drew found himself interacting with the baristas and the owners, who happened to be from New Zealand as well, and was subsequently offered a role by the café owners.

It was at Raw Coffee that Drew finally found his passion and realized he was actually good at it. He learned everything on the job and spent over five years learning everything that was there to learn about coffee and cafés. Building upon his prior experience gained during his summer jobs at various cafes in high school, he gained the expertise that he needed to succeed at his new role but soon realized that he had outgrown the company and needed to spread his wings at a new venture for future growth.

Drew’s journey is quite interesting- from studying law in New Zealand, to practicing in DIFC back in 2013, before joining his daily Barista, Raw Coffee, and then venturing out to build Three Coffee.

Drew met his new business partner, Karthik, through Raw.  They had both won a world coffee championship together and reconnected after the event to start Three coffee. They have since not looked back.

Drew’s vision is to build one of the finest high-quality coffee company in the Middle East and make coffee accessible to a lot of people through innovative solutions such as DIY specialty coffee drip bags. He believes there is lots of room to grow in a specialty market as the coffee culture in the region is one of the fastest growing in the world.

Drew’s interest in a sustainable business model that promises high quality and fair trade is a win-win situation for farmers, as they get a better price for their products; for customers as they get to experience high-quality coffee like never before; and for their company as it grows and showcase its products to a wider, international audience.

Drew enjoys being able to help people understand coffee and his vision for the brand is to have world-class specialty coffee accessible to a lot of people. Ethically traded and sustainably sourced, Three Coffee fuels the third wave coffee movement for aficionados to explore, especially in the country surrounding Gulf region and the Emiratis’ love for coffee.

Sean McComb: Fighting in Dubai is massive

1

Undefeated McComb (11-0, 5 KOs) makes his highly-anticipated lightweight debut by facing Welshman Gwynne (12-2, 2 KOs) as part of the huge #RotundaRumble5 event on Saturday, Feb. 6 – live in the US on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank, and worldwide on IFL TV.

It kicks off a run of three incredible cards that are taking place in Dubai over the next three months, held by D4G Promotions in association with Round 10 Boxing and MTK Global, and sponsored by Everlast and Sports Direct.

Belfast hero McComb has fought all over the world as an amateur, and he’s looking forward to adding another impressive location to his list.

He said: “Fighting in Dubai is massive. It’s an unbelievable place and to have the opportunity to fight there is surreal. It’s probably the most luxurious place I’ll have ever boxed.

“I’m very pleased that it was all re-arranged so soon. I stayed dedicated over Christmas and it has paid off. Once I got the news that the fight had been postponed from January, it could have been very easy to fall off the wagon, but I continued to train.

“Training has been perfect, and it means that my weight is perfect too. There will be a lot of eyes on me at lightweight as a lot of people will be questioning me thinking I can’t make the weight. I know I can.

“To be moving down straight into a title fight is fantastic, and I’m looking forward to showcasing my skills at lightweight.”

Elsewhere on next week’s huge card, Lee McGregor challenges Karim Guerfi for his European bantamweight title, Mark McKeown faces Brad Daws, Pierce O’Leary takes on Irvin Magno, and Hasibullah Ahmadi fights Haidari Mchanjo.

MTK Global is the world’s foremost fighter management company. Headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, it was founded in September 2012 by two-time European boxing champion, Matthew Macklin.
