“For as long as a single person is clapping, believing, supporting, and trusting me, I will never give up and stop dreaming of reaching my goals.”
Building a wondrous dream takes time and a process. At a young age, Allen Kaiser “Kai” Gonzales started to create a difference in his world by dreaming and aspiring for greater heights.
This man of humility believes that trust is not just a concept but a language and a lifestyle. Building the blocks to the road to success needs patience, determination, and, most importantly, self-trust.
Success is a concept that determines that a person finally achieved a dream that he wanted for a long. But for Kai, success is a word that modifies fulfillment. It means that helping people to achieve their goals generates joy and serenity.
A copper turns to gold.
Like any other successful Filipinos, Kai started from scratch until it became a sketch and eventually a fantastic artwork. This man of greatness was a product of broken family.
His experiences from his boyhood of living a life to support his studies formed a leeway for him to magnify a bigger picture in his future.
“At grade five, I started making a living to support my studies. In the third year of High School, I was a working student. I was doing modeling at that time. I also attended college at La Salle Dasmarinas,” he reminisced.
Aside from being a working student, he is also a persistent and strong-minded individual who has never been afraid of trying various works in sales, car industry, cryptocurrency, money exchange, and the food industry.
Kai’s total luck in business started in 2011 when he was hired in SM Development Corporation (SMDC), the first real estate company he entered. He began as a local agent, then an international agent, and was eventually promoted to associate sales director to sales director.
“Aside from having SMDC, I also ventured to different businesses like water franchising, amusement parks, museums, buy and sell of cars, and AK Prime, a real estate company,” he said.
According to him, financial planning is the key to a significant investment. When he started everything, he also made sure not to exceed his budget in a day to save money.
He also added, “Looking back when I started, I only have 20 pesos in my pocket. Now, I am humbled to travel to more than 50 different countries, owned multiple properties, cars and businesses”.
Nothing is impossible for Kai. Life might be miserable at first, but trusting the process is worth waiting. Even copper can turn into gold.
Making people’s dreams turn into reality
After a long journey of success, the next step in Kai’s life is to attain fulfillment. He found it by helping people to chase and reach their dreams. He loves to inspire visionary individuals who are committed and determined.
“As of the moment, I am handling 4,000-5,000 bright and effective agents. I also handling an international sales team which I called the Team AK,” he said.
At the same time, he is introducing another team called AK Angels. These new babies are currently here in Dubai to promote and market SMDC properties.
His main goal now in the industry is to help people make their dreams come true. And truly, by creating new set of angels is a proof of his pure and honest intention.
“It is not only about the sales; it is the commitment of changing every person’s life to be better,” he ended.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced that it conducted 272,115 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.
In a statement, the Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment. As part of its intensified testing campaign, MoHAP announced 301 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 744,438.
According to the Ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care.
MoHAP also announced one death due to COVID-19 complications, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 2,152.
The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished COVID-19 patients a speedy and full recovery. It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.
MoHAP also noted that an additional 149 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 738,785.
“It sounds odd, but my life philosophy is based on failure: Do not fear failure, but rather fear not trying,” says Shaista Aggarwal, who hails from Mumbai in India and has been calling Dubai home for the past 10 years.
Shaista said her love for her craft has kept her going till she found a gap in the market and went for it.
“I run a business called ‘Made By Confetti,’ which started off as a home-based business for custom-made cake toppers, baker tools and accessories, and now I also do food trading specifically in food colorings from Australia.
“The love for the craft is what keeps me going every day. Although it’s very hectic with events all year round, the fact that every piece and item I make is unique and custom made, makes it enjoyable,” she said.
Shaista said Dubai’s year-round calendar of events offers an opportunity:
“I felt there was an untapped market for high quality finished cake toppers, acrylic work, custom corporate gifting, and so on.
“Furthermore, the boom in Dubai’s food and beverage (F&B) industry has never slowed down and businesses directly or indirectly related to the food industry have been quite successful,” she added.
For those planning on doing start-ups, take this advice from Shaista, who obviously is someone who has been there: “Find a niche in the market, make yourself and your products necessary and you will always be needed.”
Furthermore, “take criticism, convert it to energy and a drive to work harder,” she says.
“It’s the critics and naysayers that encouraged me to grow and expand. Never forget to be the first person who believed in you to give you that push in the direction where you are today,” Shaista said.
“I plan on expanding further in the food trading aspect of the business and would like to teach other small businesses like me what I have learned in my journey.”
Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, Shaista states that being in business comes to her naturally. She owes her entrepreneurial outlook and business acumen to her father, father-in-law, and husband; and is grateful for their ongoing encouragement towards taking calculated risks and doing her best.
Shaista, who holds a Bachelors Degree in Graphics Design from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore (NAFA), said she started working with Ogilvy & Mather (O&M) in Mumbai, and did many projects with established international brand names.
“After marriage, I took a break as I was busy with my family and children, and eventually started up again a few years ago,” she said.
As for Dubai, Shaista said she “wouldn’t want to live anywhere else in the world.”
“I have traveled a lot. My husband was born in the UK and grew up in the US. He has a lot of experience around the world but swears by Dubai for its environment and its high paced entrepreneurial culture. I love how progressive we are in so many aspects.”
When Shaista is not at work, she jams to Punjabi music with her children which they sing to and from school. Nurturing her newfound love of taking care of herself, she also works out regularly. Her talents extend to the kitchen too. Despite being a vegetarian, some say Shaista cooks the perfect steak.
