Driverless cabs pick up and drop off passengers at nine pre-determined locations on Yas Island.
Mustafa, the safety officer, is taking part in a driverless cab trial in Abu Dhabi, where customers can be picked up and dropped off at nine pre-determined locations on Yas Island.
So far, it’s been a “smooth ride,” according to Mustafa, with no major incidents necessitating major intervention.
Abu Dhabi is not the only member of the UAE envisioning a future without drivers.
Dubai says it wants 25% of its transportation to be driverless by 2030, reducing costs, pollution, and accidents.
