Rare, original aerial photographs of the UAE, taken shortly after the country’s formation, are on sale for AED500,000 at the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF).
These previously classified photographs, captured between 1975 and 1977, offer a detailed aerial survey of the region. The collection, known as the ‘Only surviving set of the original aerial survey of the UAE’, played a crucial role in the early mapping of the desert area and was originally classified for military use.
The exhibitor hopes to sell the collection to government ministries, universities, or museums, based on its rarity and historical significance.
