His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has enacted a legislation governing penal and penitentiary facilities in Abu Dhabi in his position as the city’s ruler.
The bill will hand over control of Abu Dhabi’s juvenile institutions, prisons, and correctional facilities from the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters to the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.
The law will help Abu Dhabi’s rehabilitation and correctional ecology by taking effect on January 1st, 2024.
