“Under UAE Presidency, COP28 to Lead Global Efforts in Climate Protection,” says Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During a meeting with the team responsible for the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stressed the UAE’s commitment to sustainability and global climate action. The focus lies on enhancing international cooperation for practical climate solutions.
The COP28 Action Agenda’s four pillars were discussed: an equitable energy transition, climate finance improvement, prioritizing nature and livelihoods in climate action, and promoting inclusivity in national climate efforts.
Hosting COP28 aligns with the UAE’s environmental heritage and aims to mobilize worldwide collaboration to combat climate change, championed by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Under the UAE’s leadership, COP28 will spearhead global initiatives to safeguard the planet and future generations through effective climate action and international partnerships.
