According to the Department of Community Development (DCD), more than 93.5% of Abu Dhabi residents feel comfortable traveling alone at night. The Quality of Life Survey (QOLS) included 82,761 community members and examined a variety of factors such as housing, work possibilities, health, education, security, social relations, and happiness.
One of the survey’s significant results was that 70% of Abu Dhabi residents were satisfied with the quality of their lives, above the OECD average of 67%. The happiness and well-being index increased as well, with the population’s happiness level hitting 7.63 on a scale of 0 to 10, up from 7.17 the previous year.
Furthermore, 74% of respondents were content with their social contacts, while 73% were satisfied with their family life, according to the poll. The poll also revealed that Emirati nationals and expatriates have a strong sense of national pride and communal identification.
In terms of digital access, 88.7% of inhabitants reported having internet connectivity in their homes, an increase over the previous year. Regarding religious freedom, 88.6% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that they had religious freedom in Abu Dhabi.
The survey, which is available in six languages, aspires to represent the voice of society and is constantly updated to fulfill the requirements of all groups. Almost 200,000 community members, including citizens and residents, participated in three survey rounds and expressed their comments and ideas.
