Etihad Airways has formed a partnership with Paramount Pictures to celebrate the highly anticipated release of the blockbuster film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
The latest installment of the thrilling action franchise, directed and written by Christopher McQuarrie, is set to hit theaters worldwide starting from July 12. Abu Dhabi, the home city of Etihad Airways, serves as one of the movie’s shooting locations.
The film trailer offers a glimpse of Abu Dhabi’s iconic Liwa desert sand dunes and the Midfield Terminal, which will be Etihad’s future home and Abu Dhabi’s flagship airport terminal.
From June to August, passengers traveling in Etihad’s First and Business cabins will enjoy a cinema-style Movie Snacks menu and indulge in themed mocktails such as Mission Accomplished, Undercover Sipper, Secret Agent, and Thyme’s Up. In-flight entertainment will feature exclusive Mission: Impossible content for all Etihad guests.
Apart from the onboard experience, Etihad will launch a co-branded marketing campaign to celebrate the movie’s release, featuring unique content and flight specials with exciting limited-time offers. Fans worldwide will have the opportunity to embark on their own cinematic mission with a movie-themed experience.
Later this year, passengers flying with Etihad will have access to a dedicated Mission: Impossible channel on E-BOX, the airline’s inflight entertainment service. The channel will showcase all seven movies from the Mission Impossible series, along with captivating behind-the-scenes content.
This marks the third time that the Mission: Impossible series has chosen the UAE as a filming location, with the first installment, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, being filmed in the country in 2011.
Abu Dhabi has become a favored destination for filmmakers, attracting both Hollywood blockbusters and independent productions from around the world in recent years. The film industry in Abu Dhabi has experienced substantial growth, thanks to the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Film Commission and its investments in state-of-the-art production facilities and infrastructure.
With its diverse landscapes, ranging from a modern skyline filled with skyscrapers to expansive deserts and sand dunes, Abu Dhabi provides captivating and inspiring backdrops for cinematography, as showcased in the trailer for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
