The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has initiated a housing project valued at AED5 million in collaboration with Dubai Islamic Bank, aiming to assist families affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan’s Sindh province in 2022.
The project, launched recently, is part of the UAE’s continuous humanitarian efforts. The initiative seeks to finance and construct housing units in the impacted regions.
Following heavy monsoon rains, the floods resulted in widespread destruction, causing the loss of more than 1,200 lives and affecting over 33 million people. The ERC’s partnership with Dubai Islamic Bank aims to alleviate the suffering of flood victims and uphold human dignity.
This project follows the completion of a AED65 million project by ERC to aid Syrian families impacted by a recent earthquake. The newly inaugurated housing project includes units with two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom, accommodating up to six individuals.
