The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has begun employing sound waves to provide dialysis on patients who require dialysis through catheters.
The DHA is the first health institution in the Middle East and Eastern Europe to employ cutting-edge technologies. Rashid Hospital conducted the treatment last week on a 20-year-old patient who had renal failure and was in desperate need of dialysis.
Dr. Deena Al Qudra, Head of the Vascular Surgery Department at Rashid Hospital and the medical team’s leader, stated that the patient had been suffering from kidney failure for several years, that the procedure took 34 minutes under local anesthesia, and that the patient was discharged from the hospital within an hour.
