The Dubai Central Laboratory, a division of the Dubai Municipality, is utilizing AI-powered robots integrated with X-ray technology and advanced AI techniques to conduct automated chemical analyses and tests on different varieties of construction materials, including cement.
This innovative initiative is linked to a smart platform for laboratory testing services, facilitating swift delivery of inspection reports via mobile devices. The adoption of this technology enhances the quality and efficiency of the Municipality’s construction testing services, aligning with global standards.
This approach significantly accelerates testing procedures, shortening test durations from 4 days to just 8 minutes. The increased testing capacity, up by 650 percent, expedites the reporting of laboratory results to consulting sectors and contractors, ensuring project timelines are met.
This effort aligns with Dubai Municipality’s commitment to digital transformation, competitive business methodologies, pioneering AI technologies, and digital solutions that elevate service quality and streamline operations.
The Director of the Dubai Central Laboratory Department, Hind Mahmoud Ahmed, underscored the significance of these cement assessments in enhancing the quality and longevity of buildings. She also noted that this technology will pave the way for specialized research studies aimed at evaluating building constructions and materials.
