A new crew designated Crew-7 is set to go to the International Space Station (ISS) to replace UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi and his team, according to The National.
Astronauts from the United States, Denmark, Japan, and Russia make up Crew-7. The launch will take place atop a SpaceX rocket from Florida’s Kennedy Space Centre.
Dr. Al Neyadi will be able to return to Earth following a handover ceremony a few days after their arrival on the ISS. His leaving date has been fixed for September 1. Dr. Al Neyadi’s return would complete the UAE’s second human space travel mission, according to the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre.
He will be undergoing medical checks upon his return and is anticipated to take part in commemorative celebrations. Two more UAE astronauts, Nora Al Matrooshi and Mohammed Al Mulla, are presently training at the Johnson Space Centre and are anticipated to graduate next year for future space missions.
