The use of single-use plastic bags will be prohibited in Abu Dhabi starting in June, according to the emirate’s environmental department.
According to the report from The National, it will take steps to lower demand for roughly 16 single-use plastic products, including cups, stirrers, lids, and silverware, according to the company.
By 2024, the EAD plans to phase out single-use styrofoam cups, plates, and food containers.
