The Dubai Ruler has confirmed the extension of Metro services with the introduction of the Blue Line, connecting major neighborhoods from International City to Mirdif, Academic City, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Al Warqa, and more.
The Blue Line, set to start operations in 2029, includes 14 new Metro stations and aims to enhance residents’ commutes and living decisions. The timeline outlined by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) includes the release of tenders in 2023, project awarding in 2024, tunnel boring starting in 2025, trial operation in 2028, and official operation in 2029.
