ADNOC has inaugurated “H2GO,” the first high-speed green hydrogen pilot refueling station in the region, located in Masdar City.
The station will test a fleet of hydrogen-powered vehicles, producing green hydrogen from water using an electrolyser powered by clean grid electricity. The hydrogen supplied will be certified as “green” by the International REC Standard.
The pilot, supported by the Integrated Transport Centre and using vehicles from Toyota, Al Futtaim Motors, and BMW, aims to gather data on the viability of hydrogen vehicles in the UAE.
ADNOC Distribution, committed to sustainable mobility, views H2GO as a step toward low-carbon solutions in line with the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 initiative. The project supports ADNOC’s broader commitment to invest $15 billion in decarbonization technologies, targeting a 25% reduction in carbon intensity by 2030 and achieving Net Zero by 2045.
