Rashed Al Qemzi of Team Abu Dhabi is confident in his pursuit of his fourth UIM F2 World Championship championship, despite the Grand Prix of Italy. Al Qemzi’s recent win in the first round in Lithuania gave him a five-point lead in the championship. His victory came in difficult racing circumstances, as he unveiled a new boat and fought strong competitors.
With challengers such as Estonian Stefan Arand, Monaco’s Giacomo Sacchi, and British driver Colin Jelf in the fight for the Italian Grand Prix, Al Qemzi stays calm. With back-to-back Grand Prix events in Portugal later this month, he hopes to keep his cool and concentrate.
Al Qemzi, a three-time F2 champion in 2017, 2019, and 2021, aspires to become Sweden’s Erik Stark’s fourth champion. He underlines the competitive nature of this year’s tournament yet appears unconcerned. Despite the challenging conditions in Lithuania, Al Qemzi’s boat modifications were successful, and he is looking forward to selecting the suitable propellers for the next Italian competition.
Al Qemzi and partner Mansoor Al Mansoori will test for two days before the San Nazzaro event, which will be overseen by Team Abu Dhabi manager Guido Cappellini, a ten-time F1H2O champion. Cappellini’s ability is expected to help Al Qemzi win another worldwide title, as well as Al Mansoori overcome previous disappointments.
