Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has commenced operations from the new Terminal A at Abu Dhabi International Airport. The airline is among the first national carriers to fully transition to this state-of-the-art facility.
The new terminal will support the national carrier’s growth plans, providing a seamless passenger experience and fostering connectivity for business, trade, and tourism. This move is expected to enhance the local aviation ecosystem and attract more regional and global visitors to explore the emirate.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi marked the occasion by launching its first flight from Abu Dhabi to Sphinx International Airport in Cairo. The flights between Cairo and Abu Dhabi will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Johan Eidhagen, Managing Director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, emphasized the significance of this move in strengthening the airline’s role in Abu Dhabi’s aviation sector growth.
Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and Interim CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, highlighted Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s contribution to the growth of national carriers and its alignment with Abu Dhabi’s strategic visitation plans.
Wizz Air currently serves over 39 destinations in 27 countries from Abu Dhabi and plans further expansion in 2024.
