Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The European Tour has issued a call for volunteers for the final two events of the season in Dubai.
The newly announced Aviv Dubai Championship, 11th-14th November, and the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, 18th-21st November, require the support of the general public to deliver the world-class events.
Volunteering offers golf fans and non-golfers alike the unique opportunity to go behind the scenes and rub shoulders with the world’s top players. Previous golf or volunteering experience is a bonus but not a requirement, different roles are available and those volunteering for the first time will be given a marshalling role first and all are supported by the tournament’s Chief Marshal.
Marshals have variety of roles at the tournament, including suitable positions for those unable to stand or who have difficulty walking a significant distance, so almost all volunteers can be catered for and will be valuable members of the team. Other volunteer roles include scoring and walking with a group, shuttle driving, and assisting TV crew.
Providing a once-in-a-lifetime experience for volunteers, the Aviv Dubai Championship will see golfers battle it out on the Fire Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates for the final chance to secure their spot in the season ending US $9million DP World Tour Championship. The curtain closing tournament will comprise of the top 50 available players in the Race to Dubai rankings competing to be crowned European Number One at the fourth Rolex Series event of the 2021 season.
Volunteering positions are also open to international visitors with special rates available at several hotels in close proximity to Jumeirah Golf Estates. These can be given to each volunteer upon request.
