MOHRE takes strong measures against unauthorized employment with fines imposed on 153 employers

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has recently blocked the files of 153 employers, imposing fines for their domestic workers found engaging in unauthorized employment. This crackdown is part of a collaborative campaign with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security, aimed at scrutinizing non-compliant workers across the UAE.

In response to these violations, administrative penalties will be enforced on employers with blocked files, including the denial of new domestic worker permits. Further legal and financial actions, potentially amounting to up to AED 50,000, will be taken against them, along with corresponding measures against the companies employing these workers.

MOHRE strongly discourages employers from involving non-compliant domestic workers in unauthorized employment without resolving their legal status. Such actions not only constitute a breach of legislation but also pose health and social risks to both employers and their families.

To facilitate lawful and ethical recruitment practices, MOHRE urges employers to collaborate with MOHRE-approved domestic worker agencies. The list of approved service centers, or recruitment agencies, is conveniently accessible on the MOHRE website and social media pages through the link https://linktr.ee/mohre.

As an additional resource, MOHRE has made the comprehensive list of MOHRE-approved domestic helper service centers available on its website, which can be accessed via https://bit.ly/3yVehVQ. Employers and individuals seeking domestic worker services are encouraged to refer to this list to ensure compliance with regulations and make informed decisions.

By adhering to these guidelines and engaging with MOHRE-approved service providers, employers play a crucial role in promoting fair and lawful employment practices, contributing to a secure and respectful working environment for domestic workers in the UAE.
