Abu Dhabi airport’s Terminal A is planning an expansion to attract more airlines and increase passenger capacity from 45 million to 65 million over the next decade.
The airport aims to enhance connectivity, with a focus on government-to-government relations, particularly targeting Asia and China.
The recent opening of Terminal A, accommodating 28 airlines, supports Abu Dhabi’s global business and tourism hub status. Abu Dhabi Airports, anticipating continued growth, plans modular expansion aligning with Etihad Airways’ vision for 2030.
The airport projects “double-digit” passenger traffic growth in 2024, with workforce expansion to meet demand. Terminal 1’s future usage is under evaluation.
