Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) recently hosted a groundbreaking three-week Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone delivery trial conducted by UAE-based Jeebly LLC and India’s Skye Air Mobility.
The testing, supported by various authorities including the Dubai Future Foundation and Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, took place at the Dubai Experimental Zone in DSO.
This zone serves as a real-world test-bed for robotics and autonomous systems development. The initiative is part of the Dubai Programme to Enable Drone Transportation, with the aim of creating infrastructure for an airspace dedicated to unmanned aerial vehicles, enhancing transportation efficiency.
Dubai has put in place comprehensive standards and legislation to govern drone use and ensure security and safety.
