UAE first female astronaut Nora Al Matrooshi to launch 2024 space mission

Nora Al Matrooshi, the first female astronaut of the UAE, is set to embark on a space mission in 2024 after completing her graduation. 

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, declared this as part of the UAE’s ambitious space exploration ambitions, emphasising the UAE’s objective of becoming a prominent player in the global space sector. 

Along with Al Matrooshi, astronaut Mohammed Al Mulla will take part in pioneering space missions. The UAE’s space programme continues to grow, with forthcoming projects including the launch of the sophisticated MBZ-Sat satellite and the continuing of the Rashid Rover 2 lunar research mission. 

The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre intends to strengthen the UAE’s position in space exploration, benefiting both the nation and the global world. 

The satellite Payload Hosting Initiative, which promotes space research and technology in underdeveloped nations, was also mentioned.
