According to Abu Dhabi Municipality, UAE nationals now have a simpler approach for purchasing subsidized and reduced food using their Emirates ID card, eliminating the requirement to renew the food commodity card.
Citizens can now obtain these benefits at several authorised locations without presenting any identification. This service enables the purchasing of products at a discount.
Only UAE nationals studying in Abu Dhabi may obtain rice and food cards, and monthly distributions are made.
Children of divorced or non-citizen married women can also be added on the card in select rare circumstances.
Card suspension or worst-case termination may result from misuse of the card.
