In accordance with Federal Law No. 3 of 2016, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) is engaging with key partners to boost child protection capacities.
Abu Dhabi’s child protection ecosystem includes organisations such as the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, the Family Care Authority, and the Abu Dhabi Police. A new edition of the Child Protection Guide, describing principles for protecting children and ensuring their safety while providing healthcare services, has been sent to healthcare practitioners.
The guidance emphasises reporting procedures, health worker training programmes, and the building of preventive and curative capacity. The system’s goal is to assist intervention and preventative initiatives that promote children’s health and well-being.
