Moussa El Hayek is the Chief Operating Officer of Al Bustan Centre & Residence and a seasoned hospitality executive. Moussa’s career in Dubai has been nothing short of spectacular, spanning four decades.
Moussa’s interest in the hotel sector began at a young age, having been born in Lebanon. He realized his passion for assisting others as a young trainee and went on a road that would lead him to become a recognized figure in the profession. After obtaining experience in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, Moussa moved to the UAE in 1983 to take the position of Sales Manager at the famed Hyatt Regency in Dubai.
Since then, Moussa has enjoyed a successful career and has held important roles in prominent businesses all throughout the area. He was appointed general manager of the Abu Dhabi National Hotel Company-owned Jazira Beach Resort in 1992. He then managed the Rotana Riviera Hotel in Bahrain before coming back to Dubai and taking over as general manager of Al Bustan Centre & Residence in 1996. Moussa received a promotion to Chief Operating Officer in 2007 in recognition of his great leadership and knowledge, and he still retains this position today.
The motivation behind Moussa’s success has been his commitment and love for the hospitality sector. Meeting individuals from other countries and origins gives him tremendous satisfaction and has expanded his professional life and extended his perspective. Additionally, he feels a great sense of joy from seeing his guests happy and seeing his team members grow.
Moussa’s personal perspective has changed as he traveled. He is a proponent of diversity acceptance and ongoing progress. He highlights the need of continuing to advance, continually bettering oneself, and taking opportunities as they present themselves. Moussa’s fortitude and dedication to action have taught him priceless lessons that he incorporates into both his personal and professional life.
Outside of his job, Moussa derives fulfillment and meaning from his family. He feels a deep feeling of achievement and satisfaction seeing his grandkids mature. In addition, he works to support others’ achievements and create a society where people may coexist peacefully.
When it comes to juggling all of life’s responsibilities, Moussa reserves weekends and holidays for spending time with his loved ones. Additionally, he enjoys his pastimes, which keep him centered and refreshed. Some of these activities include swimming, walking, traveling, and exploring his passion for vehicles.
Moussa expresses his sincere thanks for the opportunity and safety of the city as he considers his time in Dubai. Many expats, like himself, consider the city to be a second home due to its entrepreneurial possibilities and diverse culture. He loves the way of life and intends to stay in Dubai after retiring since he views it as a home away from home.
Moussa looks to the future and imagines a tranquil retirement with family. He aims to enjoy life’s joys and bask in the fruits of his labor after devoting 47 years to his job.
