Dubai Civil Defence has revealed the latest additions to its four-wheeled firefighting fleet, which are designed to tackle blazes in the toughest of terrains. The emergency vehicles can be quickly dispatched to remote valleys, race to desert fires, and take on uphill challenges in mountainous terrain.
The state-of-the-art firefighting vehicles were showcased at the International Emergency and Catastrophe Management Conference and Exhibition, held at Dubai’s World Trade Centre. The exhibition aimed to promote safety and emergency preparedness in the UAE and beyond.
One of the standout vehicles on display was the dune buggy Polaris, which can carry up to 100 litres of water, first-aid kits, extinguishers, and rescue equipment such as hydraulic cutters. The vehicle’s lightweight design and high-performance capabilities allow firefighters to quickly reach and tackle fires that break out in the desert.
Brig Sulaiman Al Belooshi, spokesperson for Dubai Civil Defence, highlighted the importance of having specialized firefighting vehicles that can handle various terrains and environments. “Our firefighting fleet is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our community and ensure that we can respond quickly and effectively to any emergency situation,” he said.
The new firefighting fleet is just one of the many initiatives that Dubai Civil Defence has implemented to enhance public safety and emergency preparedness in the UAE. The organization also conducts regular training programs and public awareness campaigns to promote fire safety and educate people on emergency response procedures.
As Dubai continues to grow and expand, initiatives like these will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of residents and visitors alike. The new four-wheeled firefighting fleet will undoubtedly help Dubai Civil Defence tackle fires in even the toughest of terrains and keep the community safe in the face of emergencies.
